Union Minister appreciates Mission Bhagiratha
Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi today appreciated the flagship program of Mission Bhagiratha. “This project is a miracle and is first of its kind in the country as it will cater to safe drinking water needs of people in villages”, he noted.
The Union Minister made a visit to the project site at Peddareddypet in Pulkal mandal of Sanga Reddy district and inspected the ongoing works. He interacted with the officials and sought to know about the plan of giving potable waters to every household in rural pockets of Telangana State.
Ramesh Chandappa also gave a pat to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao by saying hats off for his vision to give purified drinking waters to the rural people. There is no such scheme in the entire country and other States have to follow suit, he opined. The Minister said he will advice Karnataka Chief Minister to replicate the Mission Bhagiratha and also send a study team to go through the water scheme plan and works. Ramesh Chandappa promised to see that some funds under special grant are released from the Centre to the State government towards the scheme.
