Virat Kohli smashed 24th Test hundred as India continued to dominate West Indies in the first Test in Rajkot. The opening day was dominated by Prithvi Shaw, who became the youngest Indian to score a century on Test debut. Cheteshwar Pujara, who fell for 86, missed out on a well-deserved hundred but Kohli was not going to let go of his chance. Kohli is now the second fastest to 24 Test hundreds, having reached the figure in 123 innings.
Only Don Bradman has taken lesser number of innings (66) to reach 24 Test hundreds. Kohli has been in spectacular form this year. He was the highest scorer in the three-Test series against South Africa before amassing 593 runs, including two hundreds in the five-Test series in England.
