Indian weightlifter P Gururaja today bagged India’s first medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Gururaja lifted a total of 249 kg – 111 kg snatch, 138 kg clean and jerk – to win the silver in men’s 56 kg this morning.
At the 2016 Commonwealth Championships, the 26-year-old Gururaja, who took part in CWG for the first time, had grabbed a gold medal.
